When Teachers 'Go Mental'
Good for Students, Good for Teachers
Mental Case has been designed to help students learn, and that makes it a great tool for teachers too. By distributing course notes to a class in the form of study archives, students have their study material in a much more digestible form, and can study it sitting at their Mac, or on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Mental Case means learning can take place anywhere.
Study Skills
The study schedules used in Mental Case are based on scientific research into how people learn. They are designed to provide optimal learning efficiency for time spent studying. The structure which Mental Case introduces to learning helps improve study skills, and automatically concentrate a student's attention on what they most need to study at any given point in time.
Sharing Knowledge
Mental Case is not a single app — it's a whole suite. There are Mental Case apps for all Mac and iOS devices, and these apps are designed to work together. The exchange of knowledge that Mental Case makes possible can work wonders in a classroom setting.
Students can sync their iOS devices with a Mac, or send notes via email for others to import into their own library. Teachers can make notes available for download from a web server; students just type in or click on the link to import. Direct transfer between two iOS devices over Bluetooth is also supported, making it possible for students to exchange notes directly.
Learning Together
The iOS editions of Mental Case include support for external monitors and projectors. By purchasing a dock connector from Apple for your projector, you can run through Mental Case slideshows on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad with the whole class. Students can then take exactly the same set of notes away with them to study outside of class.
Half Price from Apple
Education institutions can purchase all Mental Case apps at half the usual price via Apple's App Store Volume Purchase Program.
Mental Case Classroom Edition
Mental Case Classroom Edition is a free iOS version of Mental Case that has been designed for use in a classroom setting. Certain functionality is not supported, like Mac syncing, but most features useful in the classroom are included.
Students can download notes posted on the web, create new media-rich notes themselves, and — of course — study their notes.
With Mental Case Classroom Edition, a class can begin using Mental Case with just a single teacher copy of Mental Case for Mac OS X, which is used to prepare material for distribution to students.
