The Study App
Getting Stuff into Your Head
A good student needs to command many skills, and one of them is learning. Although we may like to think that learning has been superseded by Google searches, it is not possible to be effective without at least basic knowledge. And that means getting information into your head.
Most of us dread this chore, and there are precious few tools to ease the pain. That is, until now, because Mental Case is an app designed specifically for smarter learning. Smarter learning means efficient learning — less time spent studying — and better learning — long-term retention of information.
Study…Wherever You Are
Studying no longer means sitting at your desk or behind your computer. We live in a mobile society, and ubiquitous computing is the reality. That's why Mental Case is not just available for the Mac, but also for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. The iOS editions sync with the Mac app, and are perfect for studying on-the-go, wherever you happen to be.
Why study at a desk, when the couch is more comfortable? A day at the beach? You don't have to feel guilty about neglecting your study if you have your iPod and Mental Case installed.
Sharing the Burden
Not everything you do as a student is time well spent. Mundane tasks like note taking are arguably not very beneficial to the learning process. If you can share the burden of note taking, you can spend more time learning the material.
Mental Case makes it easy to exchange notes with fellow students, or get them from your teacher. You can email your notes, export them to a PC or Mac via iTunes, or transfer them directly to another Mental Case user in the vicinity over Bluetooth.
Study Skills
If you haven't got the best study skills in the World, Mental Case can help. It uses scientifically-developed algorithms to schedule your notes, ensuring that you spend most time on those notes you need to study the most. This makes you more efficient, which means less time studying, and more guilt-free fun time.
Mental Case on the Mac now also has study schedules tailored to your goals, including date-targeting. If you have an exam on a particular date, you can target your schedule to that date, and Mental Case will adjust its schedule so that you have good memory retention when you sit for an exam or test.
The New Learning
In the World of Twitter and Facebook, people no longer deal with information the way they used to. It comes to us now in packets. Where we once got our facts from books, we now get them in snippets from web sites and social media services.
Mental Case is a tool that fits perfectly in this modern information age. Mental Notes are short snippets of knowledge — not unlike tweets — and studying is very similar to checking a stream for the latest posts from friends. Mental Case also works on mobile devices like iPhone and iPad, so it has a place alongside your social media apps as The Study App.
