Learn…Anywhere
The iPhone is all about mobility, and Mental Case for iOS is your constant study companion. Whether you are waiting for a bus, or in a long queue at the store, Mental Case allows you to fully utilize your downtime for learning. Even during an evening of TV, you finally have something useful to do during the advertisements. Don’t waste your precious time studying, make your wasted time precious.
Knowledge To Go
An iPhone app is much more powerful when it works together with an app on your Mac. Just think about iTunes: you organize your music on your Mac, and you listen to it on your iPod. This same relationship exists between Mental Case for Mac and Mental Case for iOS. You create and organize notes where it is most convenient — on the Mac — and study them when it is handy on the iPhone. The two sync via Wi-Fi, with the new notes you enter on the iPhone transferred back to the Mac, together with information about what you have studied. If you would rather not sync, you can also import study archive files via iTunes.
Swap Notes
In these days of social media, it makes sense that you would want to swap your notes. Mental Case makes it easy. Two iOS devices can connect via Bluetooth to exchange notes wirelessly. If you don’t happen to be in the same room, you can email your notes directly from the app, and for those times when you want to distribute your notes to a whole class, you can upload them to the Internet (eg DropBox) and have others download to import.
Getting Notes To Your iPhone
The easiest way to transfer your notes to Mental Case for iOS is to sync over Wi-Fi with Mental Case for Mac OS X, but that is not the only option. If you don’t have a Mac or the Mac app, there are other routes you can take.
For example, you can use a free account at FlashcardExchange.com or Quizlet.com to enter your notes on the web, and download them inside the app. Or you can use a text editor to create a study archive, and transfer that via iTunes to Mental Case. You can also get notes off your iPhone via iTunes, so there are many ways to transfer your data.
In the Classroom
Schools often don’t have the funds available to make bulk purchases of software for their students. That’s why we developed Mental Case Classroom Edition. It is designed specifically for use in a classroom setting, and is a free download for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
The teacher creates a study archive containing notes for the students by exporting from Mental Case for Mac OS X. The study archive is uploaded to a web server or file sharing service like DropBox, and the students then enter the link to download and install the notes.
“Mental Case is an incredibly well conceived product that turns the iPhone into a truly powerful study aid. The application is polished, easy-to-use, and as stable as any application I've seen. The sync functionality is flawless and I've yet to run into any problem on either the Mac side or the iPhone side.”
